Survey Results  At this point in time I have rough designs on the computer which are nearly final. I feel like it is important to get feedback on Survey Monkey so I can see if my designs are effective or need improvement. My original aim was to gather at least 7 responses but I have managed to get 18 responses. I shared the link to my survey on two Facebook community groups wh ich were Malvern Noticeboard -   https://www.facebook.com/groups/780919915287102/  and Worcester noticeboard -  https://www.facebook.com/groups/1819361128307317/ . I wanted to get a response from local people in the surrounding area because the posters relate to Worcester. I was not expecting to get many responses in a short amount of time. There are people of all ages and ethnicities in these groups.  I asked people 5 important questions about my designs and one question where I asked what the age was of the person taking the survey. Previous Student Work Analysis I think this poster is really effective and it compliments the brief well. The subject is about fossil fuel and this is a campaign poster to highlight the dangers of climate change.  The colour schemes used in this poster are shades of brown green and blue these have been used in such a way where they represent the colours of the earth, landscape and atmosphere. I admire how the first colour to grab your attention is the brown section which is the main point of the poster.  I think the main art style which has been used here is vector images in combination with flat colour, although different shades of colour have been used. I would have liked to see how this poster would look on a adshel or billboard.  I feel like the font used is possibly a form of arial font or similar to this. Planned Obselesence The Men Who Made Us Spend BBC Documentary   What is the Videos Theme? The videos overall theme was about why do we spend what we spend. Jacques Peretti investigated consumerism and the people who have the biggest influence on the public (consumers).  The documentary explores how in 1980's Berlin it was found out there was a limited life cycle of the light bulb. In short terms, there was a tiny amount of oxygen placed into the bulb which eventually caused the tungsten filament to fail. Lightbulbs had been made so they would only last for 1000 hours rather than 2600 hours which was the natural lifespan on a light bulb, this doubled business profits within 5 years.  Planned obselesence has also happened with everyday objects such as printer ink cartridges as well as cars. Typography and Layout Research Graphic Design, The New Basics by Ellen Lupton and Jennifer Cole Phillips Symmetry can be left to right, top to bottom or both. Many organisms and naturally occurring shapes have a symmetrical form.Symmetry is not the only way to achieve balance. Asymmetrical designs can be more attractive than symmetrical ones, where balance can be achieved by placing contrasting elements in counterpoint to each other; compositions which allow the eye to wander while achieve a balanced look overall. Beehives are a good example of a naturally occurring symmetrical look. I could break the rules and make a honeycomb look asymmetrical.  I admire how the typography has been used above, there are different versions of the same text. This could be a route of design I go down with my campaign posters, but I will have to see if this will be viable since I will be creating information graphics.
